Vineyards

New Zealand is a small country in the South Pacific, well known for its idyllic beaches, mountainous alpine regions, wide open spaces and native flora and fauna.

A country where in the last 50 years our traditional agriculture has moved well beyond the boundaries of sheep, beef, dairying and cropping farms. Today our land is home to a wide range of horticulture and viticulture, with wine- making fast becoming an integral part of our country’s identity.

Over the last 50 years New Zealand’s wine industry has developed from small family owned vineyards to an industry that now produces some of the world’s finest wines lead by Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

The Nobilo Wine Group enjoys ownership and partnership of many diverse sites within the key wine growing regions of New Zealand.

Hawkes Bay

Hawkes Bay, located approximately 200 kms south of Gisborne on the east coast of the North Island, enjoys hot dry summers and is an ideal location for Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

"Hawkes Bay has been known for quite some time as being the best area to grow red wine in NZ, and red wine has been planted in that area since the late 1800’s and have been shown to be very rich, full bodied with good fruit characters, we’ve followed that trend over the last 10-15 years."

Marlborough

Marlborough, New Zealand’s largest grape-growing region located at the top of the South Island produces Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and in particular - Sauvignon Blanc.

"Marlborough is one of the most fantastic areas in the world for growing wine, its one of the top areas in my opinion for white wine. The climate is principally dry, it tends to be mediterrean in most aspects with winter rainfall and dry summers, springs and autumn. Marlborough's sauvignon blanc is acknowledged widely as being the most expressive of it’s type in the world."
